About the General Motors Global Brands IT Planning team:
GM's Global Brands IT Portfolio Planning team works with the customer facing application development teams, like Sales Planning, Mobile Services, Dealer Support, Fleet Management, and Customer Relationship Management. Our purpose is to identify, evaluate, prioritize, select, execute, and monitor the portfolio of programs and projects that optimize GM's investment in IT. We collaborate on strategic plans while facilitating tactical execution of current projects.
About the role:
The Global Brands IT Portfolio Planner will utilize exceptional analysis and problem solving skills to understand the total portfolio, including number and types of projects, resource demand and supply, benefits, and project details. The role provides the opportunity for the Global Brands IT Portfolio Planner to use multiple systems and analyze data, generate graphs, reports, and presentations, for manager and executive audiences. The role interacts with numerous Directors, Development Managers, and Project Managers to continuously improve portfolio planning, project delivery, and optimal utilization of resources. The IT Portfolio Planner role is highly creative, collaborative, and interesting, with multiple ways to stay challenged.
Qualifications
Minimum
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of project or program management in a complex, fast paced environment
Passion for analytics and ability to use Excel, Tableau, Business Objects, or other analysis tools to turn data into decision ready information
Experience creating and delivering presentations to Director level and above
Demonstrated initiative, both to identify and solve problems and invent creative, value added analyses
Outstanding team skills, including clear communication (verbal and written), facilitation, and collaboration across multiple groups
Preferred
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in a business, financial, or operational discipline
Knowledge of an industry standard Project and Portfolio Management application such as HP Software PPM
Experience using Microsoft SharePoint for list and document management with workflow
Ability to write training documentation and deliver training through virtual meetings
