X Commerce, Inc., an eBay company seeks, MTS 2, Software Engineer in Austin, Texas.
Job Duties: Work with team architects and product owners to define requirements and approach. Drive both high-level and detailed technical design documents and conduct design reviews. Provide feedback on architectural and implementation enhancements. Provide technical guidance to other software engineers. Implement new, highly scalable and available components using PHP and other advanced technology frameworks in a cloud environment. Enhance and maintain existing components of the core X.Commerce Magento platform. Participate actively in team and companywide architecture discussions. Develop unit and system level tests within an automation framework such as Fitnesse. Adhere to release/project schedule and milestones. Demonstrate total ownership of a product from inception to end of life.
Minimum Requirements: Masters degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience in the Job Offered or six (6) years of experience in the field of software engineering or software development OR Bachelors degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics or a closely related field and eight (8) years of experience in the Job Offered or eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the field or software engineering or software development.
Special Skill Requirements: Experience must include the following: PHP skills; experience developing on a Linux/Windows Apache Oracle - PHP technology stack; QA automation processes and tools (phpUnit and jUnit); experience with developing synchronous and asynchronous highly available transactional systems; HTML, XML and JSON. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
