General Description:
Essential Duties:
Ensure the general ledger is accurate and up to date, and complete the reconciliation process timely and in accordance with the DHMS' policies.
Integrate the cost accounting function into the general ledger, code expenses to the correct account, and resolve accounting discrepancies effectively and in accordance with GAAP.
Use sound accounting principles and procedures to ensure accuracy of all adjusting journal entries posted to the general ledger.
Prepare intercompany general ledger activities, including reporting for multiple companies and ensure intercompany borrowings are properly recorded by both entities.
Review and approve depreciation, amortization, and accrual entries, and prepare profit and loss statements, monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
