About the role A Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Senior Software Developer is responsible and accountable for the quality and coding of software components that make up complex systems serving GM's customers, manufacturing facilities, and dealers.
This Software Developer role is a senior level developer position.
This role requires a deep experience in software development, data structures and databases.
Senior Software Developers will work independently and under the direction of senior IT architects, development leads and will lead teams while contributing to multi:

Qualifications:

Extensive experience querying and optimizing relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
Experienced in creating and refining data models for efficient data storage and performance.

Hands on experience supporting web operations, network, server infrastructure, most notably across multiple geographically distributed data centers :
Experience with various development methodologies (e.
g.
Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, etc.
) :
At least 5 years' experience database schema design, database normalization, store procedure creation using cursor and temp table for Oracle.

At least 5 years' experience database ETL (Extract, Transfer and Load) with the data from different sources.

A current portfolio demonstrating expertise in executing technical deep:
dives on software design, code, and test artifacts :
Develop estimates of effort for design of new, and/or modification to existing application components :
Experience is crafting detailed design specifications as well as test plans for unit and integration testing :
Strong oral, written communication skills Preferred
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience/training :
Ability to troubleshoot execution challenges in complex projects (application, infrastructure, code quality, data and performance) and enable focused corrective actions to make the innovation successful.

Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications and designs as well as estimate the amount of effort necessary to complete the tasks :

5 years' Oracle database maintenance (start and shutdown the database, schema and database export and import, table space creation, user creation and SQL performance tuning).

5 years of IT experience in the manufacturing industry (automotive or industrial) working on leading edge solutions in planning, engineering, sourcing, supply chain and logistics functions.
