Fulltime Groundskeeper
The Hotel San Jose is hiring for a full-time Groundskeeper.
This person will exceed guest expectations of the overall maintenance, cleanliness, ambiance and beauty of the hotel and office grounds.
This position is outdoors and focuses on the cleanliness of property grounds and is responsible for coordinating projects with the grounds and maintenance teams.
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position.
This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed.
Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
Essential Functions and
Responsibilities:
1.
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction 2.
Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and adhere to dress code policies 3.
Communicates with Front Desk staff and/or Head of Grounds & Maintenance regarding grounds related problems or issues that need immediate attention 5.
Perform hotel pool check by 9 am (ph level check, sweep deck, vacuum, and skim) 6.
Sweep paths and beds for debris 7.
Remove and treat all weeds 9.
Clean and maintain all exterior landscape lighting, including the seasonal scheduling needs 10.
Maintain the property sprinkler system 11.
Maintain all plant life (trim hedges, dead-heading flowers, watering potted plants) 12.
Oversee plant life development (maintain fertilizing schedule, potting healthy plants, removing dead plants, report on flower bed status with regard to moisture, insects, fungus, etc.
, and farming and promoting new growth in greenhouse) 13.
Maintain all grounds equipment/tools; report condition of all equipment/tools and notify Head of Grounds & Maintenance when broken, lost, etc 14.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of your department s work area 15.
Responsible for offsite maintenance and landscaping purchasing.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
