Mechanical Technician - Laundry - Sears (Round Rock, TX)
The Strategic Technical Assistance Center is a part of a dynamic Knowledge Centered Organization within Sears Holdings Corporation.

The TechnicianEUR(TM)s essential job functions fall into four main groups:
Technical:
Accurately diagnose and repair consumer mechanical product Ability to communicate effectively over the phone (requires wearing a headset) Ability to operate a computer in a Windows Environment and use different computer applications as required Ability to give the customer an accurate diagnosis of repair or adjustment as is applicable Must have knowledge of and application of basic electrical principles Ability to work variable and flexible hours including required overtime as needed Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment Communication:
EUR Ability to communicate diagnosis and needed repairs of products to the field technician in a knowledgeable and courteous manner EUR Ability to read, understand, and apply written text of a technical nature, in order to answer questions, solve problems, and complete job tasks EUR Ability to effectively communicate the benefits of the Value Added Services to the customers EUR Ability to read, write, and speak English Performance:
EUR Ability to perform all services within manufacturer specifications EUR Ability to perform all procedures and work instruction according to ISO 9001 standards EUR Ability to read, understand and navigate through information presented in diagram, or other pictorial displays including product schematics EUR Ability to effectively demonstrate appropriate time management skills EUR Ability to work with minimal supervision EUR Ability to maintain a professional appearance according to company dress code EUR Must demonstrate a commitment to quality work in all areas EUR Ability to follow specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship and prevent recalls EUR Ability to follow all technical processes related to the job EUR Ability to follow appropriate industry specific regulations related to the handling of hazardous materials Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
EUR High school diploma or equivalency certificate EUR Trade/technical school certification or diploma or a minimum of 8 to 10 years of job-related experience, preferably as a service technician EUR Prior experience using a personal computer preferred Job Competencies:
EUR Must be proficient at reading technical diagrams and schematics EUR Must be able to enter information into a computer database using a standard keyboard and mouse EUR Must have proven verbal and interpersonal customer service skills EOE Minorities / Females / Protected Veterans / Disabled Source:
