The Ultrasound technologist is responsible for producing and performing a variety of diagnostics ultrasound procedures to include vascular as well as general ultrasound exams.
Other department duties include restocking exam rooms/suites with supplies, ensuring proper function of equipment and PACS system.
Responsible for assisting with the clerical aspects of Imaging Services This position also requires shift rotation -Standby call rotation and Holiday shift coverage as scheduled.
What you need to have for us! Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program Required:
Minimum 2 year clinical experience in an acute care setting performing vascular as well as general ultrasound exams Preferred:
1-3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting performing vascular as well as general ultrasound exam Required:
credentialed with one or more of the following RDMS/RCVT/RVT; American Heart Association BLS.
Who you will be reporting to:
Department Director and Imaging Supervisor What you will do for us! (Roles and Responsibilities):
Responsible for operating the Ultrasound unit.
Facility wide.
Produces diagnostic ultrasound images measurable through feed-back from Radiologist and or Cardiologist.
Communicates appropriately with ordering physicians to interpret written and verbal orders to perform the appropriate exam Identifies and uses the appropriate ultrasound transducer for the appropriate exam Prepares room and equipment in a timely manner with anticipated supplies and Ultrasound transducers Restocks exam rooms with supplies, removes any outdated products/supplies and returns outdated product to Materials department.
Explains procedure to patient and provides assurance.
Provides patient/family education pre and post procedure.
Performs other duties as assigned.
