Summary:
The Multi-Modality Technologist is responsible for producing and performing a variety of diagnostics imaging procedures to include assisting with the clerical aspects of Imaging Services.
Other department duties include restocking exam rooms/suites with supplies, ensuring proper function of equipment and PACS system.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and
Experience:
Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Sciences - Modality Specific Certifications are preferred Required:
Minimum 1 year clinical experience in an acute care setting Preferred:
Two years clinical experience in an acute care setting This position may require shift rotation -Standby call rotation and Holiday shift coverage as scheduled.
License and Certifications Required:
Registered with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Certified by the State of Texas - TMB American Heart Association BLS.
Who you will be reporting to:
Department Director/Imaging Supervisor What you will do (Roles and Responsibilities):
Responsible for operating equipment pertinent to that modality:
Ultrasound/CT/X-ray and MRI.
Produces diagnostic images measurable through feed-back from Radiologist and or Cardiologist.
Communicates appropriately with ordering physicians to interpret written and verbal orders to perform the appropriate exam.
Prepares, identifies and dispense contrast:
identifies appropriate contrast and safely screens all patients prior to administering.
Inputs correct patient information in CR and Pacs system documenting procedure performed through completion.
Prepares room and equipment in a timely manner with anticipated supplies and instruments.
Restocks exam rooms with supplies, removes any outdated products and returns outdated product to Materials coordinator.
Radiation/MRI Safety-Maintains radiation doses ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) Patient/Self-Safety-shields all patients and self as appropriate to minimize radiation exposure.
Follows all MRI Safety protocols.
Screens all patients and visitors prior to entering Magnet suite.
Explains procedure to patient and provides assurance.
Provides patient/family education pre and post procedure.
Performs other duties as assigned.
