5 Quick Apply 18 hours ago Full Job Description Optical Lab Technician Texas State Optical is looking for an experienced Optical Lab Technician.
The candidate must be detail orientated and ready to work.
We are an extremely busy TSO office and our lab technician is responsible for cutting 90% of our patient lenses.
Certification is not required, but certainly a plus.
Salary will be based on experience.
Skills required Interpretation of prescriptions written by optometrists Ability to learn new equipment Ability to cut lenses without supervision Able to stand for long periods of time Maintaining organization in the lab to ensure everything runs smoothly Perform all maintenance of equipment in the lab Keeping track or orders, prescriptions updating spreadsheets and lab inventory Basic knowledge of EHR systems is preferred but not required The skill to heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames in order to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients.
Responsible for maintaining a clean working environment Ability to work with a fast pace with little error.
In addition to maintaining the lab itself, our lab technician will occasionally be needed on the sales floor for patient overflow, dispensing of glasses, answering phones and pretesting patients.
