Business Office Coordinator
Essential Functions:
Supports and assists the Business Office Manager and Facility Administrator Provides support and guidance to other Business Office staff Is responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounting and reporting Meets deadlines Responsible for verifying patient benefits and assuring collection of co-payments Processes invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner, and maintains accounts payable information Is responsible for accounts receivable and takes active role in assigning duties to other admin staff Maintains adequate inventory of all office supplies, forms and printed materials, and re-orders them as needed Completes mandatory and appropriate annual compliance and education items Participates in the Performance Improvement process and activities, including the areas of Safety, Medical Records Maintenance, Patient Satisfaction, Physician Satisfaction, Documentation, Compliance with OSHA Standards, and Risk Management Maintains a pleasant and professional workplace for employees, surgeons and their staffs, patients and their families Registers patients and checks in visitors and vendors Schedules surgeries in coordination with surgeons office and anesthesia group REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum 2 years Medical Office experience Good verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of computers with experience in windows-based systems and Microsoft Office Experience with medical practice billing software necessary Team player, Ability to communicate effectively with center management, center staff, patients, their families, the physicians and their staff Ability to read, write and speak the English language Detail oriented; Ability to handle frequent interruptions that result in having to re-evaluate priorities Proficient in medical terminology Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal busy office environment with much telephone work.
