Security Engineer II, Vulnerability Management and Response

Amazon Vulnerability Management and Remediation (VMR) is looking for a Security Engineer to join our Vulnerability Management Response Team.
VMR is responsible for the discovery, assessment, triage, and remediation of vulnerabilities across Amazon.

As a Security Engineer in VMR Response, you will play a hands-on role in the proactive identification and remediation of security issues at Amazon.
You will be part of a global-scale vulnerability response service supporting a diverse technical ecosystem.
Your teammates are an international group of security engineers, software developers, and technical program managers dedicated to continuously raising the security bar.
Key job responsibilities- You will independently drive severity assessments of security issues, CVEs, misconfigurations and weaknesses.
You will address those assessments in the form of security campaigns to initiate remediation.
- You create and onboard campaigns that address security issues across Amazon.
You demonstrate knowledge and confidence to gain consensus on assessments with peer engineers and senior leaders in company bar raisers.
- You develop easily maintainable software and deploy it to cloud.
You take on projects that improve vulnerability management at scale, focusing on automation where possible, documenting your work.
- You use query languages like SQL or scripting languages like Python to manage data from different data sources to develop automation, create dashboards and evaluate metrics.
- You participate in on-call rotations and you are proficient in a range of security design approaches and know when it is appropriate to use them (or not).
- You specialize in two or more security domains (e.
g.
access control systems and methodology, network security, cloud security, applications and systems development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, or operations security).
- You may evaluate code or develop solutions to remediate exploitable conditions.
You may implement software patches to address system vulnerabilities such as malicious code or other type of threats.
- You are a significant and autonomous contributor.
You make balanced, technical trade-offs with teams, re-use where possible, or when introducing dependencies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
