Key job responsibilitieso Acting as privacy SME for Amazon Business privacy compliance initiatives.
o Dive deep with AB engineering teams to understand personal data retention and the business use cases it supports.
Provide implementation guidance through a thorough understanding of data use and data handling practices, the regulatory landscape, and compliance implications for relevant teams.
o Consult with AB legal, accounting, SDO Privacy, AB Information Security (InfoSec), and policy, process, vendor, and application owners to ensure controls are in place to mitigate privacy risks.
o Drive process improvement and control implementation projects in coordination with the application teams.
This may include the resolution of audit findings and the execution of projects originated from internal assessments.
o Socialize and secure commitment for remediation and risk management strategies.
o Create and execute project plans to achieve the defined deliverables.
o Develop deep knowledge of data privacy processes, standards, and policies utilized by Amazon and create AB specific privacy guidance.
o Consult on the development of business requirements for new or enhanced privacy implementations or processes/frameworks necessary to improve AB privacy posture.
o Write narratives to communicate obligations, risk analyses, and recommendations.
o Inventory risk and compliance obligations in a developing governance, risk and compliance (GRC) framework.
o Prepare other supporting documentation such as executive reporting, FAQs, and standard operating processes.
o Respond to questions and troubleshoot issues including AB Data Privacy support queue management.
o Lead projects to implement standards, tools, and processes supporting privacy and security.
o Develop and manage privacy metrics and track privacy goals.
About the teamThis role supports the Amazon Business (AB) Data Privacy program which acts as the central point of coordination with leadership, technology teams, legal, and our central Stores, Digital, Other (SDO) Privacy organization.
A focus on data privacy ensures we can meet privacy compliance obligations as well as support Amazon's efforts to lead as a customer obsessed company.
We enable the AB growth strategy by safeguarding our business investments, building privacy into our service offerings, and creating trust with our customers through transparency in our data management practices.
The AB Data Privacy team is looking for a Privacy Industry Specialist who is passionate about protecting individual privacy rights.
This role engages by driving privacy campaigns, implementing privacy by design concepts, developing AB specific guidance and best practices, collaborating with business and engineering teams, and through broad stakeholder support.
This role partners with the AB Privacy Program Manager, and legal, SDO Privacy, and AB Information Security (InfoSec) colleagues to develop, respond to, and manage privacy campaigns.
The Privacy Industry Specialist has a critical role in operationalizing privacy which helps AB meet privacy obligations and mitigate privacy risk.
They will perform a wide range of activities including detailed analysis of personal data in business and systems context, development of business requirements and privacy recommendations, and AB documentation including operating procedures, planning and strategy documents, wiki pages and support FAQs.
This role also performs data analysis and manages other compliance related tasks as needs arise.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
