Additional Information
Purpose
Provide oversight for Dell Medical School on strategic medical campus development involving facilities and clinical operations. Serve as the leader for specific project responsibilities including the activation of construction and space planning projects that involve clinical and clinical research operations.
Essential Functions
Project management leadership on facility design and operational implementation for clinical outpatient operations, including related education and research functions, and associated equipment. Work with the Office of Facility Planning and Construction to coordinate and direct decision support for programming and design of clinical and research buildings. Coordinate the development of the departmental floor plans with department directors and faculty leadership as required. Oversees the completion of the furniture and equipment planning, assuring user participation and approval, and ultimate coordination with furniture contractors and equipment vendors. Will also oversee biomed vendors. Provides communications on building and operations systems to all levels of senior management. Coordinates orientation and safety training, including building operations and elevator plans. Provides direction as a member of RFP selection and procurement committees. Participate in the development of overall policies, interdepartmental systems, and procedures within Clinical Operations, which include, but are not limited to, procedure development for patient care, security, life safety, and code teams. Develops representative responsibility teams and works with them to assist in the occupancy and activation needs of the project. Develop space requirements analysis using clinical, clinical research, and clinical administrative staffing models.

Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related discipline and five years of healthcare experience with increasing responsibility in a leadership/managerial role. Proven project management experience as a leader of large and complex projects including space planning, real estate, and/or facility construction; conceptual and managerial capabilities to be able to work at various levels of detail concurrent with big picture; excellent written and verbal communications skills; high competence using Microsoft Office programs and project management software; broad understanding of the functional operation of both inpatient and outpatient health care services programs and sensitivity to the operational complexities of the organizational elements of patient care. Ability to monitor a variety of assignments and activities concurrently, the ability to motivate people at various levels in the organization, stamina to be able to work occasional long hours and unusual hours over an extended period of time, and the ability to perform under stress. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of academic healthcare experience preferred. Clinical administrative experience or practice management experience. Previous director level experience. Clinical operations experience. Procurement experience. Experience in the translation of building design and functional space planning. Leadership style must be accepted by and supported by line management with the ability to listen and to use influence to bring consensus on project goals.
