Principal Software Engineer
Job Description
Keysight Ixia Solutions Group provides the industry s most comprehensive converged IP network validation and network visibility solutions. Equipment manufacturers, service providers, enterprises, and government agencies use Ixia s solutions to design, verify, and monitor a broad range of wired, Wi-fi, and 3G/LTE equipment and networks. Ixia s test solutions emulate realistic media-rich traffic and network conditions so that customers can optimize and validate the design, performance, and security of their pre-deployment networks. Ixia s intelligent network visibility platforms provide clarity into physical and virtual production networks for improved performance, security, resiliency, and application delivery of cloud, data center, and service provider networks.
Duties will include
Helping to define and develop cutting-edge network visibility solutions
Learning about new developments in networking and security and applying that knowledge to feature development for Network Packet Brokers
Full stack development from the GUI through the HW APIs
Developing high quality software independently and in teams
Evaluate and integrate third party software.
Develop JUnit tests and perform feature/integration testing.
Leading and participating in design and code reviews
Requirements
Strong Java programming and OOD skills required. C/C+
programming skills are a plus.
Expertise, knowledge and interest in Ethernet, networking, lan switching, etc technologies
Proficiency with Web application technologies such as REST, javascript, HTML5, JSON, etc
Good sense for effective, efficient, and easy to use management interface design
Understanding of development for embedded systems
Strong software debug skills
Tools:
Eclipse/Webstorm, Code Collaborator, Jira, GIT/Bitbucket, debuggers, profilers, Wireshark
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Ideal candidate will typically have a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with 8
years relevant industry experience
