Project Life Safety Systems(LSS) Engineer at Samsung in Austin, TX
Leading strategic fab and support building planning for Life Safety systems related to new and retrofit construction. Coordinating continuous improvement of Life safety equipment and performing regular site field observation for implementation of best practices and development of new project work. Managing construction contractors and PLC programming/automation vendors through construction, commissioning and startup of systems. Interfacing with site EHS, Facilities Operations, Maintenance, Gas and Chemical systems and Engineering teams as the single point-of-contact for Life Safety systems work related to on-going design and construction. Providing technical guidance to contracted design teams for facility construction design, preparing specifications, work guides and sequence of operation for Life Safety systems and leading a multi-cultural team of contract design and construction contractor staff. Managing schedule, cost and quality for contractor and subcontractor work related to controls and leading a multi-cultural team of contract construction staff. Identifying, tracking, managing, resolving and communicating project issues during all phases of project-related work. Proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating project risk points related to safety and code compliance. Managing stakeholders in a customer-service oriented team. Workdays & Hours:
M-F, 1st Shift. Skills and Qualifications 4-year degree in Engineering or Sciences at an ABET accredited institution. Minimum 5 years of Life safety systems design and construction experience focused on process systems in an industrial setting. 5
years in a LSS design and construction setting experience in Semiconductor or similar industries is preferred. Working knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 101 Life safety code, NFPA 72 Fire alarm and signaling code, NFPA 400 Hazardous material code. Working knowledge of IBC and NFPA 1 Fire code as they pertain to LSS. Registered Professional Engineer in state of Texas, or registered in another state with ability to transfer is a plus. PMP certification is a plus. Experience managing and leading Life Safety Systems projects including design, specification, and construction administration. Working knowledge of Life safety systems, Fire alarm, HAZMAT, Gas Smoke and Leak detection systems. Strong creative problem solving skills, leadership potential, and a desire to contribute to leading-edge planning and optimization projects with aggressive goals and timelines. Experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis including Pivot Tables, data source linking through VLOOKUP, and simple script creation. Ability to read and understand design plans, shop drawings, and review work in progress. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills are required to effectively communicate technical content to various organizations.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
