Visit Samsung Austin Semiconductor strives to be the World's Best Foundry. Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an engineer to support fab critical process control applications. This position will work across the phases of the Software Testing Life Cycle and code deployment to ensure changepoints to these applications do not interrupt daily operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. In addition, this position will serve as the on-site expert for a set of applications within the team when process improvement, maintenance, or advanced troubleshooting is needed. The Process Control Applications team is responsible for maintaining and upgrading first party Samsung systems that modify run-to-run tool behavior and act as defense lines for fab quality through recipe management and statistical process control systems. This team works closely with fab and quality engineering teams to investigate process control needs and implement solutions.Role and Responsibilities Assume full ownership of system including source code review, application execution analysis, and process performance monitoring. Develop unit testing pipelines for both standard and normal change points to validate intended functionality. Create procedures and refine troubleshooting techniques to be utilized by 24/7 shift based operation personnel to ensure system resiliency. Partner with Fab Engineering stakeholders to advise on use of system features in order to meet given business objectives. Trace and understand existing source code to provide solutions for logic improvements or assist in formalizing requirements for new feature development. Integrate change points into overall manufacturing execution system seamlessly, through evaluation of system dependencies and determination of release procedures. Contribute to system documentation articles covering application architecture, change point functionality, and maintenance procedures. Provide second level escalation response as part of team to ensure 24/7 operation of system to support factory needs. Workdays and Hours:
1st Shift, Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. Skills and Qualifications BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in a software engineering or DevOps related role. Proficient in object oriented programming languages (Java SE preferred). Experience with relational databases (Oracle PL-SQL preferred). Familiarity with Linux shell. Comfortable reviewing and debugging another person's code. Motivated to improve existing processes through innovation and creative problem solving. CI/CD experience is a plus but not required. Process control experience is a plus but not required.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
