Samsung Austin Semiconductor strives to be the World's Best Foundry. A professional database administrator (DBA) will keep the databases up and running smoothly to support 24/7 Foundry FABs. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.Role and Responsibilities Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each application requirements. Design and implement database in accordance to end users information. Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner. Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize their use of database platforms and continuously improve the applications and services. Ensure the quality, consistency and security of company data and database systems in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements. Assistance with SQL and PL/SQL development and performance analysis. Responsibility for the evaluation of database software purchases. Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data. Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses. Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users. Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards. Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. Perform traditional DBA duties such as upgrades, patching, environment cloning, implementing backup/recovery. Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required. Proficiency with the UNIX Operating System and Unix/Linux Shell Scripting. Proficiency of Oracle Datapump (EXPDP & IMPDP) and database refreshes using RMAN. Set up and manage Active DataGuard. Implement Oracle failover technology within the DR facility. Work independently to perform database performance analysis. Provide on-call support on a rotational basis. Work days and hours:
1st Shift, M-F 8am to 5pm. Skills and Qualifications BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification. Minimum of 8 years of experience in database administration. 8
years of professional experience in IT as DBA with minimum of two years managing Exadata Machines. Extensive working experience with Oracle Database environments 11g-19c on Oracle RAC, GRID. Good understanding of major OS (HPUX, Solaris, Linux, Windows). Oracle ASM experience required. Experience with Database solutions and implementation of Oracle Exadata, Oracle ZFS, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL. Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications. Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically. Familiarity with database design, documentation, change management process. Proven working experience as a Database administrator. Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications. Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL. Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding. Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools. Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically. Knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate is a plus. Knowledge of other RDBMS is a plus. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and strong time management and organization skills.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
