The Reader Journey team at Goodreads owns Goodreads functionality that help make us the world's largest site for readers and book recommendations. We work in a wide range of technology to improve existing functionality and launch new experiences related to viewing books, adding them to shelves, setting reading challenges, the famous Your Year In Books, and more. As a Software Development Engineer, you will work backward from the customer to improve the Goodreads experience. You will be involved in the full software development process including design, implementation, and maintenance of critical systems with high throughput. You will have the opportunity to learn new programming languages and dive into topics like security, scalability, API design, search, and grow as a leader on your team. Qualifications:
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design 1
years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. 2
years of non-internship professional software development experience Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience in working on distributed and large scale applications. Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered in a manner consistent with all applicable local, state and federal laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & Engineering, Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
