For a paralegal wanting to escape the stress and demands of a large firm or heavy litigation practice, this job offers a unique opportunity to leverage your legal skills into a specific area of the law and focus on the securities industry, including working closely with the clients and with attorneys as a claims analyst, paralegal, and as second chair in all litigation, arbitration and/or mediations.
Claims Analyst/Former Stock brokerage or investment adviser experience preferred.
Our Firm is engaged in wide variety of securities industry related cases, including representing investors in securities fraud arbitration and litigation cases, and also representing stockbrokers and investment advisers in employment and regulatory matters.
We are looking for a talented and driven individual to analyze cases, work closely with clients, and to participate with and support attorneys in the case work-up through final trial.
Ideal Candidate:
Ideal candidate will have substantial experience as a litigation paralegal with experience in the financial services, brokerage and/or advisory industries.
Alternatively, the ideal candidate may have experience in financial services industry in sales support, back office, operations, compliance, or legal divisions.

Responsibilities:
Maintaining all schedules and deadlines, including docket control of litigation and arbitration cases Interviewing prospective clients to determine whether a case has merit and whether our firm can successfully serve the client Investigation and profiling of all parties/witnesses in prospective and active cases Prepare profit and loss, trading, and other quantitative analyses of brokerage and fee based advisory accounts Sort, organize, analyze and manage voluminous documents received through discovery in litigation and arbitration cases to find and use the key evidence Serve as direct liaison to clients, opposing counsel, regulators, experts, and arbitration/judicial forums Prepare initial drafts of litigation/arbitration pleadings and motions E-filing for Texas Courts Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials
Qualifications:
College Degree, or exceptionally compelling experience Meaningful experience in the securities and/or legal industry required Prior experience working at a broker dealer, investment adviser, or securities regulator preferred FINRA/SEC registrations preferred Must be highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, compassionate with clients, analytical with numbers and data, and have an ability to write and communicate well.
Must have knowledge of stock/bond markets, investment products, insurance and annuity products, private offerings, investment account statements, and brokerage and investment advisory industry.
Prior experience in legal industry is a plus; if none, training will be provided.
Experience with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PDF programs (i.
e.
, Adobe, Nitro), and various investment quotation and research sites.
