gov) Position Description Administers the Texas Department of Transportation's (department's) Classification and Compensation program by conducting job classification reviews to ensure that the department's positions are classified in accordance with the State's Position Classification Plan (Plan) and conducting salary reviews to ensure equitable and fair compensation practices.
Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Essential Duties:
Analyzes department career ladder promotions (CLP) and Professional Engineering Institute (PEI) monthly actions.
Enters and retrieves position and employee data in PeopleSoft's Human Resources Information System.
Conducts and implements department-wide classification and compensation reviews; coordinating classification and compensation communication and responding to technical questions from human resources personnel, divisions, and districts; and maintaining and filing documentation of correspondence and transactions.
Coordinates the creation, revision, and update of department job descriptions.
Assists in responding to the team's general inbox requests to change and update position data.
Attends regular team meetings and miscellaneous meetings, to include meetings with customers, upon request.
Completes mandatory trainings within specified timeframes Meets project and response deadlines Attends work in accordance with established schedule Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis.
Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
One year of experience in classification, compensation, or human resources experience.
(Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent).
Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license.
This position requires driving a state vehicle.
