TELEWORK This position offers an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum 2-day work in office.

This position is a member of our Water Supply Division.
WHAT YOU WILL DO As a part of the Water Supply Division's Drinking Water Standards Section, our Natural Resources Specialist II (Drinking Water Specialist) will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission.
You would use your skills and experience to:
Complete technical work related to Public Water System inventory data for the Drinking Water Special Functions Section of the TCEQ.
Review, validate, and process requests for Public Water System (PWS) inventory data changes submitted by internal and external customers.
Create and maintain source water-related inventory data for all proposed and active public water systems (PWS).
Respond to requests concerning compliance with applicable TCEQ rules and regulations concerning public water systems.
Provide assistance and guidance to customers, co-workers, management, and the public regarding TCEQ rules and regulations that affect PWSs.
Perform quality assurance on inventory investigations, submissions, and data entries to ensure compliance with rules and relays deficiencies to staff and management.
Participate and provide recommendations for the revision and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, new business processes for data management, team policies, and tools related to PWS inventory data.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.
One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience interpreting and/or implementing rules, regulations, policies, or procedures.
Experience ensuring or overseeing compliance of a regulated entity with state or federal requirements.

A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the minimum qualification requirements outlined above.
CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist II state classification.
The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Natural Resources Specialist II series.
