Job Description Summary A Barista will exceed the expectations of all guests in a multitude of tasks that include, but are not limited to, taking orders and serving food and beverages to patrons at the coffee shop. A Barista's duties include but are not limited to preparing food and drink items to specific Jo's standards, performing daily duties assigned by management and help to maintain Jo's high level of cleanliness. Furthermore, Baristas are expected to provide customers with a singular experience, a consistent product, high quality food and drinks, and must be committed to superior customer service. This position is a very visible position. The person having this position must comply with the property's dress code, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to resolve conflict and posses a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. All Bunkhouse employees are expected to greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome. Furthermore, Baristas must develop and maintain the company's culture, values and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners. Baristas must promote the Bunkhouse Vision in all actions and decisions and are accountable to the overall team. Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision. Essential Functions and Accountabilities Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and adhere to dress code policies, wearing the Jo's uniform and closed toe shoes Play music for the whole community, including being aware of inappropriate music choices (i.e. offensive lyrics, volume, etc.) Respect fellow employees, customers and the work environment Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients Take orders from patrons for food or beverage, and prepare the item to specification Gain knowledge of the Point of Sale (POS) system so that each transaction performed is accurate Restock items using the system First-in, First-out (FIFO) Check invoices for accuracy as deliveries arrive at Jo's Clean during and at the end of each shift, according to the side-work assigned Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management at all times via phone, email, log books, and attending meetings to ensure all needs of the workplace are met Communicate time-off requests with the shift cover book and confirm schedule with management before taking time-off Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements Give excellent customer service to each patron Additional Essential Functions and Accountabilities Cashier Food Runner Expo Work Related Experience Six (6) months coffee related experience in service industry Education High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Certificates/Licenses Certificates, licenses, and/or identification cards as required by the U.S. Department of Justice to verify employment eligibility. Must maintain unexpired TABC Certification and Food Handler Certification Performance Standards Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff Ability to create documents in Excel and Word Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System and Point of Sale) Ability to apply concepts of math including:
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Working Conditions/Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually loud due to street noise The weather is an extreme factor due to the outside nature of the location The person in this position may have to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee typically encounters while performing the essential functions of the position.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
