For Sale: 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline in Austin, Texas for sale in Austin, TX

1 of 18
Vehicle Description 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline Deluxe 2-Door Fastback Same owner the last 30 years in Austin TX; originally a Nashville car.
Small block Chevy 350 V8 engine with less than 1,000 miles on it since conversion about 20 years ago.
Clean Texas title; 5-year current classic registration through March 2028; vanity Texas plates that say ROCKIN.
Features:
Automatic transmission; regular column shifter.
Mustang front clip; Corvette rear end.
Nice, clean, tuck and roll custom cloth interior.
Has air conditioning but not very effective above 80 degrees.
Recent new tires, battery, gas tank.
Good brakes.
Lights all work.
Custom wheels.
The side pipes and spotlights are just decorative.
Clean trunk with an original era spare tire and hubcap which is pretty much useless now.
Still have some of the original parts that were removed for changes made (radio, one rear wheel skirt).
Issues:
The paint job and chrome were beautiful when I bought the car.
Both now due for a complete refresh unless you like this patina.
The suspension needs attention (springs, shocks); the front end shakes when going over 45mph.
Starts and runs, but the starter can be finicky.
Items repaired not long ago but have recently stopped working again:
horn, wipers, fuel gauge.
Wish we had added power steering during the conversion.
The transmission occasionally hangs for a few minutes when stopped and in idle after longer periods of not driving.
Has just started to blow a little blue smoke; likely just a stuck PCV valve; trying to get that fixed now.
The car sits around far too much due to my constant travel.
Hence the sale.
Time for a more engaged and responsible owner.
